Simple morning skincare routine for oily skin
Hello, lovelies, and welcome back. If you are new around here, we talk about skincare, haircare, a bit of personal development, and all those good stuff. Today’s post is on a very simple morning skincare routine for oily skin, acne-prone skin, and those who deal with hyperpigmentation.
These are the issues I am currently dealing with and having a simple morning skincare routine for me has been very helpful for my skin. I’m very prone to forming blackheads and my skin is just recuperating from a severe bout of skin irritation.
My current morning skincare routine comprises just three steps and I ensure the skincare products I use contain some key skincare ingredients that are beneficial for my oily acne-prone skin.
For those just getting into skincare, this can be a good starting point for you as it is very beginner-friendly.
So grab a cup of coffee, tea, or something… and let’s dive in

3 Steps Morning Skincare Routine
Our morning skincare routine should be focused on protecting the skin from the damaging rays of the sun and environmental pollutants
1. Cleansing
This is the first step in my morning skincare routine. I keep my cleansing process in the morning simple. I wash my face with a water-based cleanser only I usually don’t double cleanse in the mornings.
I cleanse with the Cerave SA renewing cleanser and I rinse off with lukewarm water. This cleanser contains salicylic acid which is a very beneficial ingredient if you deal with clogged pores and bumpy skin. It is a beta hydroxy acid and is able to cut through the lipid matrix of the skin into the pores to rid it of excess sebum, keep it unclogged, and slough off dead skin cells.

2. Serums
I follow up with two serums. First I use the good molecules niacinamide serum 10% and then follow up with the ordinary’s Ascorbyl glucoside serum 12% (vitamin C serum)
These serums are both antioxidant serums. Having one or two antioxidants in your morning skincare routine is very important. They prevent the skin from oxidative stress that is caused by free radicals, sun rays, and environmental pollutants.
Niacinamide is important in maintaining your skin barrier function, it can calm inflamed skin and also treat hyperpigmentation.

3. Moisturizer/Sun Protection
This is the last step in my morning skincare routine. I combine these two steps by using a moisturizer that contains Sunscreen. The one I’m using currently is the Cerave ultralight moisturizer with SPF 30. I really love this sunscreen, it is creamy and still lightweight. It gets easily absorbed and doesn’t break me out. Using a sunscreen guys, is so important you don’t want to leave this out in your morning skincare routine. The sun rays cause our skin to age sooner than it should and that’s not cute.
