5 Tips to Help Crush Your Skincare Goals

So we are that time of the year when everyone is setting goals and making new year’s resolutions. I’m guessing you are a skincare junkie like me and you are ready to set some skincare goals this year. If you are, then this post is for you. I will be sharing 5 skincare tips to help you crush your skincare goals this year.

So grab a cup of coffee, tea, or something…and let’s dive in

1. Identify the skin issues you are dealing with

This is the first step to crushing your skincare goals. Knowing exactly what skin type you have and the skin issues you are currently facing is the first step to getting that situation under control. For me, I have oily skin and am currently dealing with adult acne, hyperpigmentation, clogged pores and I’m in my early thirties so am also interested in anti-aging skincare. Once you have this locked down then you can proceed to the next steps.

2. Assess the severity of these concerns

When you know your skin concerns next is to ascertain the severity. If your skin issues are mild, then you can proceed with taking care of your skin at home. However, If you deal with moderate to severe acne, you may want to see a dermatologist to look at your skin. If you are also dealing with a severe case of skin sensitivity you may want to stop everything and see a doctor before proceeding with caring for your skin at home. You don’t want to be handling your skin when it is clearly out of your scope and needs professional help.

3. What skincare ingredients do you need to tackle these skin concerns

Next is to sort out what skincare ingredients you need to treat these conditions at home. This is another key step to achieving your skincare goals this year. Whatever skin issue it is there are definitely skincare ingredients to tame them. I made a post on the best skincare ingredients for oily skin and the best skincare ingredients for hyperpigmentation. If these are issues you are dealing with then check them out. For those with severe cases, your dermatologist would definitely prescribe medications or skincare products containing these skincare ingredients.

4.Get Your skincare products

So now you have all you need to know, so it’s time to get your skincare products. Now you need to get skincare products that are well-formulated, safe, and free of fragrance, alcohols, and harsh ingredients. You need to get skincare products that contain the skincare ingredients you need for your specific skin issue as I said earlier on. Remember we are not about getting all the skincare ingredients at once just because they are beneficial. You want to keep it simple always.

5.Create a simple skincare routine

Now is the time to draw out a simple skincare routine to help you crush those goals. Now, this applies to everyone but especially for those just getting into skincare, it’s very important to keep your skincare routine as minimal as you can while incorporating as many skincare ingredients as you can. Now it is also important to stick to your skincare routine for at least 3 months. Because no matter how good your skincare routine and skincare products are. if you don’t give them time to work or get through the purging phase ( for skincare products that cause that) then you are never going to reap their benefits.
